Large vintage clear pressed-glass pedestal compote attributed to the Westmoreland Glass Company’s Waterford pattern, circa 1940s–1960s.
This generously scaled serving and centerpiece bowl features a broad circular form with a deeply paneled rim. The lower bowl is richly molded with repeating geometric diamonds containing delicate floral-star motifs. A short architectural pedestal connects the bowl to a substantial square foot decorated with radiating sunburst lines.
At 9 inches in diameter and 6.5 inches tall, this example has a commanding presence and is larger than the small candy compotes more commonly found. Its clear, reflective glass and strong geometric pattern complement Traditional, Hollywood Regency, Art Deco Revival, and collected interiors.
Beautiful displayed empty, where its pattern can catch the light, or used as a fruit bowl, floral centerpiece, dessert server, or decorative dining-room accent.
No visible factory signature was located. Attribution is based upon the pattern, form, and construction.
