Measuring approximately 7 feet long by 3 feet wide, this monumental vertical textile features meticulous hand-embroidery rendered in vibrant silk threads over a bold, festive coral-red silk ground.The central composition depicts a beautifully detailed spotted deer (Lu) beneath an enduring pine tree—a classic and auspicious East Asian motif symbolizing longevity, wealth, and career prosperity. The vibrant narrative scene is framed on the top and bottom by patterned, dark plum-colored brocade borders, adding structural elegance and contrast to the piece.The panel has been stabilized for display with a soft, protective cotton fabric backing, which covers the raw embroidery reverse and aids in hanging.
