A rare and iconic modular sofa designed by Pierre Cardin, dating back to the 1970s.
A piece of extraordinary aesthetic impact and historical value, a perfect example of the sophisticated design and glamorous elegance that characterized the furniture creations of the celebrated French designer.
Designed with period craftsmanship, the set is composed of five independent elements that allow for multiple furnishing configurations to suit any space.
The solid structure is defined by bases and perimeters in refined, glossy black lacquered wood, creating a sharp and elegant contrast with the soft, multi-level embossed padding.
The seats are entirely upholstered in fine original silk, embellished with a sophisticated abstract feather motif in warm shades of beige and brown.
The sofa is 50 years old, so it is normal for the lacquer to show some signs of wear, as shown in the photo, particularly around the perimeter of the base.
There are some light stains on the cushions and two small holes in the silk, as shown in the photo (both on the upper backrests). This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no
official proof of authenticity,
however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity
