Standing approximately 9 inches tall, the sculpture portrays the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child in an intimate, tender pose. Flowing robes and sensitively modeled features are enhanced by a luminous monochromatic white glaze, giving the figure a clean, sculptural presence.

The underside bears the Metzler & Ortloff circular factory emblem, the “Kunstporzellan Metzler & Ortloff” designation, the word Germany, and impressed model number 7268.

An elegant devotional object that also works beautifully as a sculptural accent in a traditional, European-inspired, Hollywood Regency or quietly eclectic interior.
