A wonderfully expressive vintage ceramic rooster dating to approximately the 1950s or 1960s. The figure is beautifully modeled with a dramatic red comb, richly textured feathers, and a warm multicolored glaze in shades of red, golden yellow, brown, cream, and green.
Its generous size, glossy finish, and lively character make it a charming decorative accent for a kitchen, dining room, country home, or collected tabletop display. It would be especially appealing in a traditional, French Country, farmhouse, or eclectic interior.
The underside bears an indistinct impressed or molded mark that appears to read “544” or “44,” accompanied by what resembles a copyright symbol. The maker has not been identified.
