A late Qing Dynasty elm stool from China, dating to 1875-1900, with a broad circular seat raised on four square, gently tapered legs. The legs are joined by mortise-and-tenon boxed stretchers, with pegged joinery visible at the leg junctions, a hallmark of traditional Qing-era construction. Solid elm throughout. A warm honey-brown patina runs through the grain.
