Antique English-style upholstered armchair and oversized ottoman with an unusually sculptural silhouette. The chair features a tall, gently curved back, pronounced upholstered arms, turned wood legs, and original casters. The large coordinating ottoman has matching turned legs and complements the chair’s substantial proportions.
The pieces are upholstered in a deep blue patterned fabric, accented by contrasting navy and white vertical stripes along the exterior of the chair. The upholstery is not original and was added at a later date, giving the set a distinctive decorator look while retaining the character of the older frames.
The oversized ottoman has a distinctive shaped form with gently curved ends and softened corners, complementing the unusual silhouette of the chair.
