This charming vintage Chinese circular lacquer lidded box features deeply carved raised relief decorated with traditional Buddhist eight treasures and central “Ji” (auspicious blessing) character, accented with hand-painted red, green, blue and gilded detailing.
The top is surrounded by scrolling foliage framing the eight sacred symbolic emblems, a classic motif representing good fortune, peace and prosperity in Chinese culture. The exterior sides continue the rich carved decorative pattern, finished with vibrant multi-color pigment and gilded trim.
Perfect for storing rings, earrings, small jewelry, stamps and keepsakes. It serves beautifully as a vanity storage piece, curio cabinet display accent, or a thoughtful Chinoiserie gift.
