This handsome vintage Chinese octagonal table screen is handcrafted from rich rosewood, beautifully decorated with mother-of-pearl inlay depicting the classic dragon and phoenix motif, with Chinese characters “Long Feng Cheng Xiang” (Blessings of Dragon and Phoenix) at the top.
The scene features a dragon, phoenix and flaming pearl inlaid with colourful shell, set against the warm dark wood grain. The ornately carved stand has traditional beast mask and scrolling cloud carvings, elevating this piece as a striking tabletop ornament.
Dragon and phoenix are revered traditional symbols of prosperity, harmony and good fortune. Perfect for Chinoiserie interior styling, display on a console, desk or curio cabinet. A wonderful decorative accent piece or thoughtful gift.
