Dating from the 1940s to the 1960s, these heavy, premium-quality fixtures showcase the grand, European-inspired elegance that made Greene's the premier choice for custom lighting projects in luxury Manhattan residences.

The reverse interior of the heavy brass frames features an incised "SPAIN" foundry stamp, denoting the premium, substantial Spanish brass castings utilized by Greene's for their top-tier commissions. During this era, elite American lighting companies frequently imported components from Spain to leverage their world-class, traditional artisan casting techniques.

The fixtures were imported, hand-finished, assembled, and wired in New York City by local craftsmen and retain their original maker/distributor labels from the historic Greene's Lighting Fixtures location in Brooklyn, NY. Most notably, the reverse side of the mounting backplate proudly retains the highly coveted, original vintage blue-and-white paper "Union Made" tracking label (Serial # 071799978) issued by the IBEW Local 3, verifying their authentic mid-century American custom heritage.

Crafted from substantial, heavy solid brass (magnet tested), the sconces feature gorgeous, crisp casting with intricate, ornate detailing along the scrollwork and backplates. Each arm extends elegantly into a classic light socket fitted with vintage candle sleeves, giving them a timeless, traditional candelabra aesthetic. These stunning sconces are perfectly suited to flank a mirror, fireplace, or entryway. The fixtures are in excellent vintage condition. The brass exhibits a beautiful, authentic aged patina with minor surface wear consistent with age. Candle sleeves show light vintage character. Included are four premium cream silk lampshades that perfectly match the high-end traditional aesthetic, designed to soften the glow of candelabra bulbs. Features original vintage wiring. Sockets are intact. As with all vintage electrical fixtures, rewiring or inspection by a professional electrician prior to installation is highly recommended.
