The front is punctuated by vertical carved panels decorated with Gothic window designs, foliage, and architectural motifs.
The sides feature the same decorative motifs and are fitted with drop iron handles.
The hinged lid is reinforced with two iron fittings with cut-out decoration. It has a central metal lock plate. The interior has a single compartment.
The chest is of antique construction with assembled panels and uprights. There is wear, marks, small cracks, and repairs consistent with age and use.
Woodworm damage is visible in some areas; the current infestation is unknown.
Some minor losses and damage are visible, particularly in the lower sections and on the reverse.
