The vase features an elongated smoke-grey inner body suspended within a substantial layer of clear crystal glass. Deeply cut and polished geometric facets transform the exterior into a sculptural, architectural form, creating strong optical reflections and changing the appearance of the grey core depending on the viewing angle.

This distinctive type of faceted Sommerso glass is closely associated with the production of Alessandro Mandruzzato in Murano during the mid-20th century. The attribution is based on the form, construction and comparison with closely related documented market examples; the surviving label confirms Murano manufacture but does not identify a specific workshop.

The substantial weight of approximately 1.7 kg gives the vase a particularly sculptural presence, making it equally effective as a functional flower vase or as a standalone piece of Italian Mid-Century Modern glass.
