The shaped rectangular top is the focal point, displaying an intricate geometric parquetry composition assembled from richly figured veneers in varying tones. Contrasting satinwood stringing and banding emphasize the design and follow the flowing contours of the top. Below, a conforming shaped apron continues the table's fluid profile and transitions into four elegant cabriole legs. Their pronounced curves balance the geometric precision of the parquetry above, giving the piece a lighter, more graceful appearance than its substantial top might suggest.
The table would make a sophisticated centerpiece in a contemporary or transitional living room, particularly in front of a streamlined sofa where its warm woods and serpentine curves provide contrast to clean modern lines. The relatively narrow 24-inch dimension is especially useful where a substantial coffee table is desired without overwhelming the seating area. It is equally appropriate for Traditional, Italian, French-inspired, or Transitional interiors. See less
