The hollow-moulded porcelain figure is finished in hand-painted polychrome decoration, with flowing cream and white robes accented in pale green and pink. Her black hair is arranged in symmetrical side buns, while the face is individually painted with expressive features and pronounced rosy cheeks. The basket is modelled with raised multicoloured contents, adding further relief and colour to the composition.

The integral pedestal is formed as an irregular rockwork base painted in black, grey, pale green and pink. The underside retains a substantial firing or vent aperture characteristic of hollow porcelain construction and bears a red export stamp.

The inscription identifies the porcelain body as Chinese manufacture with subsequent hand-painted decoration. It is an export inscription rather than a traditional reign or factory mark, and no specific manufacturer is presently identified. The mark does not reference Macau, and no Macau attribution is made.

At approximately 16 inches high and weighing 4.625 lb, the figure has substantial physical presence within the category of mid- to late-twentieth-century Chinese export decorative porcelain.
