This elegant 1960s French Louis XVI–style settee combines traditional cane work, carved gilt beechwood and soft rose-and-cream damask upholstery. Artisan-crafted in France, the piece has graceful neoclassical proportions and a light, refined appearance characteristic of Louis XVI seating.
The solid beechwood frame is finely carved with floral motifs, classical ornamentation and fluted legs, while gently shaped arms complete the balanced silhouette. The frame was professionally refreshed approximately eight months ago with a warm gold-leaf finish, highlighting the carved details while retaining its vintage character.
The backrest is finished in traditional woven cane, adding visual lightness and texture to the design. Its natural tone contrasts beautifully with the gilded frame.
The generously proportioned seat was professionally reupholstered approximately a year ago in an elegant rose-and-cream floral damask fabric inspired by classic French interiors. New padding was added at the same time for comfortable and supportive seating.
