Each medallion holds its own small diamond or lozenge, and little goats, dogs, stick figures and sprouting plants are scattered between them in the open blue. The ivory border of hand-drawn crisscross lines borrows directly from Moroccan Berber weaving.

Colors and shades include: Denim blue, cornflower, orchid, plum, sage, slate violet, ivory, rust and oatmeal.

Hand-knotted in Afghanistan in Ghazni wool on a cotton foundation with natural dyes. Deep, dramatic abrash moves through the blue ground in long horizontal bands, giving the field the texture of water. A bold carpet that blends Caucasian medallions with Moroccan graphics.
