Description:
Presenting a magnificent Chinese cloisonné incense burner (censer), masterfully cast from solid bronze and finished in vibrant enamel. This impressive piece features a rectangular body with a waisted neck and flared rim, flanked by tall, graceful scrolled handles. The body is adorned with colorful lotus and peony motifs set against a green wave-pattern ground, while the neck displays a band of scrolling florals on a turquoise ground, all resting on four gilt bronze legs carved in the form of mythical beast heads. The lid is crowned with a finely sculpted gilt bronze "Celestial Dog" finial, seated with a ball beneath its paw, and the base bears an apocryphal four-character Qianlong reign mark. Perfect as a striking focal point on a console, mantel, or as part of an Asian art collection. See less
