Expertly crafted from dense, dark hardwood (rosewood or huali wood style), this rectangular screen is a stunning example of traditional Chinese artistry, combining fine woodwork with delicate shell inlay.

Key Features:

Auspicious "Antiques" Motif (博古图): The central panel features a beautiful "Mother of Pearl" (shell) inlay depicting a classic "Scholar's Studio" scene. It shows a vase holding lotus flowers, alongside a teapot, a citron (finger lemon), and a ruyi scepter. This is a traditional "Bogu" (antiques) motif, symbolizing peace, longevity, and good fortune.

Intricate Carving: The sturdy base features a deeply carved, openwork design of scrolling vines and floral motifs. The screen is constructed using traditional mortise and tenon joinery (榫卯结构), a hallmark of fine Chinese furniture.

Fine Craftsmanship: The dark wood shows a rich patina and natural grain. The contrast between the deep wood and the luminous, multi-colored shell inlay is truly striking.

Statement Piece: This is not just a decorative object but a piece of cultural art. It is perfect for display on a mantel, console table, or as a centerpiece in a study or living room. See less
