The box features a rich, deep crimson color and is entirely covered in intricate high-relief carving.

Key Features:

Masterful Carving: The lid is deeply carved with a central motif of a mythical beast (likely a Qilin or lion) standing amidst stylized rocks and auspicious clouds. The sides of the box are adorned with a dense, repetitive pattern of swirling cloud or scroll motifs, demonstrating exceptional skill and patience.

Iconic "Tixi" Style: The raised red lacquer creates a striking three-dimensional effect, with the deep recesses showing darker tones, enhancing the visual depth. This technique is highly prized in Asian art.

Symbolism: The Qilin is a legendary creature in Chinese mythology, symbolizing prosperity, serenity, and benevolence. The cloud patterns represent good fortune and the heavens.

Versatile & Collectible: This is a substantial piece, perfect for storing jewelry, seals, or small treasures. It is also a striking standalone decorative object that will add a pop of color and history to any vanity or desk. See less
