Finished in a dramatic glossy black ground, the vases are richly decorated with elaborate Asian-inspired figural and landscape scenes in contrasting ivory, gold and delicate polychrome accents. Architectural pavilions, elegantly dressed figures, bamboo, trees and stylized landscapes wrap around the generously scaled bodies, creating a highly decorative composition from multiple viewing angles.

Particularly striking are the dimensional gilt embellishments applied around the shoulders and necks. Sculptural branch-like forms, foliage and organic motifs project from the surface, giving the pair unusual depth and texture beyond their painted decoration. Gold detailing continues along the flared rims and bases, beautifully framing the glossy black finish.

At 36 inches high with substantial 17-inch-wide bodies and 13.5-inch-diameter flared mouths, these are true statement-scale decorative objects. Displayed together, their matching proportions and complementary figural scenes create an impressive architectural presence.

Ideal for flanking a console, fireplace or large entryway, or displayed individually as sculptural accents in a maximalist, Hollywood Regency, traditional or eclectic interior.
