Each holder features a semicircular cradle topped by a cast figural boy rendered in modest relief. The boys wear short jackets with rounded collars and are posed with hands to the midsection. Facial and hair details are stylized and defined with incised modeling. The curved bases are finished with concentric ridged bands and a flattened rear plate to sit neatly on a tabletop. A reflective silver-plated finish accentuates the raised surfaces and lends bright highlights across the figures and rims. Construction is economical cast silver-plate joined integrally to the arched holder, producing a matched pair with uniform scale and proportion. At a petite scale, these holders read as decorative figural accents with a shallow profile from the side and a clear silhouette head on. The interplay of raised ornament and reflective plating creates a lively contrast between light and form when arranged individually or together. Both pieces present as a tightly matched set that would suit period table settings or decorative displays. They are presented in very good vintage condition.

United States, circa 1880
