The rectangular top features a black inset vitrolite panel set within a slim brass surround that creates a strong graphic plane above a finely detailed metal framework. Each leg is turned and fluted along its length and terminates in a delicate reeded foot while a shaped center stretcher joins the legs and echoes the linear fluting. Decorative collars and ringed motifs at the leg tops and junctions articulate a classical inspired vocabulary and maintain a restrained modern profile. The brass frame shows a warm polished finish and is constructed from solid brass components with crisp machine formed fluting and hand applied finishing at the collars. The inset vitrolite top sits flush within the brass rim and emphasizes the table’s refined edges and slim silhouette. The contrast between the deep black panel and the warm brass surround creates a poised architectural presence that complements both traditional and modern interiors. Its proportions maintain an elegant balance, making it suitable as an accent surface beside seating . This piece is in excellent vintage condition.

France, circa 1950
