Measuring an impressive 75 inches long, this substantial case piece is distinguished by its strong Neoclassical architecture and extraordinary original hardware. Three monumental brass flaming-torch pulls extend vertically across the drawer fronts, creating a dramatic focal point. A Greek-key-inspired geometric frieze, fluted corner pilasters, paneled drawer fronts and sculptural feet further emphasize the dresser’s classical influence.

The combination of flaming torches and Greek-inspired ornamentation is particularly evocative of Olympic imagery. Dating from the same general period as the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, the piece is an intriguing example of the renewed interest in classical Greek motifs during the era. While an official connection to the Games has not been documented, the Olympic influence in the design is unmistakable.

The dresser has been professionally lacquered in white, giving its architectural details a fresh, sophisticated presence while retaining the original brass hardware. Nine generously sized drawers retain their natural wood interiors, and the original Romweber “Furniture of Timeless Beauty” label remains intact.
