Handcrafted solid huali wood hinged jewelry box decorated with magnificent mother-of-pearl shell marquetry on the lid.
The inlay artwork depicts two traditional Chinese Foo Lions (guardian lions) playing with a brocade ball. This classic motif symbolizes protection, good fortune and prosperity in Chinese culture.
The front is fitted with antique-style brass lock hardware, accented with polished green stone cabochons set in ornate metal mounts on both sides. The hardwood displays beautiful natural grain with a warm aged patina and smooth finish. The hinged compartment offers ample space for jewelry, rings, earrings, necklaces, seals, stamps and small keepsakes.
This stunning decorative wooden box is a gorgeous Chinoiserie statement piece for dressers, vanity tables, desks and console tables. Perfect for Asian, oriental and eclectic home styling.
