This is a set of 4 'Profile' dining chairs, designed by John Van Koert for Drexel and produced from 1955 to around 1960.
The design of these pieces strikes a good balance between 1950s modernism and Scandinavian-inspired organic modernism. They're not necesserily "space age" nor are they overly Danish. Instead, they have enough sculptural personality to become the highlight of a room.
The warm walnut, organic lines and neutral striped upholstery make them very versatile, so, naturally they'd be perfect around a mid-century modern dining table, but equally convincing in Scandinavian modern, organic modern, boho chic, coastal modern or even eclectic interiors.
