Finished in deep ebony black, this ebonized console table is distinguished by clean rectilinear lines, splayed legs, reflecting the chinese chippendale sensibility of of the chinese chippendale period United Kingdom design. Its surface and joinery bear the honest, gradual wear of genuine age rather than a manufactured distress, evidence of a long working life already lived. An object that has already survived this long carries a kind of authenticity no reproduction can offer, and living with it means becoming part of its ongoing story. There is something quietly right about choosing a piece that has already proven its durability, instead of something manufactured for a short lifespan. It is well suited to an entry console. See less
