The gentle wear across its surface was earned over real decades of use, not applied for effect, and it only adds to the piece's presence. There is a particular satisfaction in owning something with real history behind it, rather than something made to be replaced in a few short years. There is something quietly right about choosing a piece that has already proven its durability, instead of something manufactured for a short lifespan. It is well suited to a small accent cabinet.
