Finished in antique brass, this pair of brass urn table lamps is distinguished by turned urn-form bodies, black drum shades, reflecting the other sensibility of of the traditional period France design. Its surface and joinery bear the honest, gradual wear of genuine age rather than a manufactured distress, evidence of a long working life already lived. Living with an antique is a way of keeping a small piece of the past in daily use rather than behind glass. Rather than buying something destined for a landfill in a few years, an antique like this rewards you with materials and joinery built to be repaired, not discarded.
