Finished in rosy rouge marble, this sample of rouge marble slab is distinguished by veined rose and grey marble figuring, reflecting the other sensibility of of the traditional period France design. Its patina has developed slowly and naturally over the years, the kind of depth that cannot be faked or hurried. Each mark and softened edge on a piece like this is part of its history rather than a flaw to be hidden. There is something quietly right about choosing a piece that has already proven its durability, instead of something manufactured for a short lifespan. It is well suited to a material reference for tabletops. See less
