Its golden oak finish sets off reeded tapered legs, inset grey marble top, a hallmark of of the louis xvi period France craftsmanship in the louis xvi tradition. Its surface and joinery bear the honest, gradual wear of genuine age rather than a manufactured distress, evidence of a long working life already lived. There is a particular satisfaction in owning something with real history behind it, rather than something made to be replaced in a few short years. There is something quietly right about choosing a piece that has already proven its durability, instead of something manufactured for a short lifespan. It is well suited to an entry or lamp table.
