Its warm golden oak finish sets off three arched panels, carved cornice, fluted pilasters, a hallmark of of the louis xvi period France craftsmanship in the louis xvi tradition. The gentle wear across its surface was earned over real decades of use, not applied for effect, and it only adds to the piece's presence. Furniture like this was built to be passed down, not replaced, and choosing it today continues that same intention. Choosing well-made, older furniture over something new and disposable is a small but genuine kindness to the planet. It is well suited to above a buffet or fireplace as a statement piece. See less
