Its weathered honey oak finish sets off woven rush seats, simple slat backs, a hallmark of of the french provincial period France craftsmanship in the french provincial tradition. The gentle wear across its surface was earned over real decades of use, not applied for effect, and it only adds to the piece's presence. Each mark and softened edge on a piece like this is part of its history rather than a flaw to be hidden. There is something quietly right about choosing a piece that has already proven its durability, instead of something manufactured for a short lifespan. It is well suited to a dining set. See less
