Its surface and joinery bear the honest, gradual wear of genuine age rather than a manufactured distress, evidence of a long working life already lived. A piece this age has already been loved by more than one household, and it is ready to be loved by another. Furnishing with antiques is a gentle form of good stewardship, letting well-built pieces continue their working life rather than ending up in a landfill. It is well suited to a flexible dining table.
