The gentle wear across its surface was earned over real decades of use, not applied for effect, and it only adds to the piece's presence. Living with an antique is a way of keeping a small piece of the past in daily use rather than behind glass. There is something quietly right about choosing a piece that has already proven its durability, instead of something manufactured for a short lifespan.
