Breathtaking, monumental hand-blown art glass masterwork weighing a massive 9.5 lbs. Heavily inspired by the structural surrealism and Cubist profile works of Pablo Picasso, this contemporary Venetian-style sculpture is a true heavyweight showstopper.
This vase features exceptional technical execution, utilizing a multi-layered cased glass technique with a brilliant, saturated palette of primary red, yellow, and cobalt blue patches (Macchie) balanced against frosty white inclusions.
The "Picasso" Profile: The abstract features are masterfully defined by thick, trailing black glass lines drawn across the molten body to map out a modernist face.
Negative Space Negative "Eye" Hole: A highly difficult structural feature, the artist incorporated a flawless open negative space (donut hole) completely through the upper right side of the body, beautifully evoking an abstract eye or ear in profile.
Premium Casing & Base: The thick-walled rim showcases a striking yellow trail wrapped tightly around a deep red internal core. The base features a professionally flat-ground, polished pontil, providing absolute stability for its substantial 9.5 lb frame.
