Crafted with exceptional intricacy, this vintage wooden Buddhist altar fixture features a detachable, highly detailed openwork kōhai (nimbus or halo) mounted upon an elaborate tiered lotus pedestal. The teardrop-shaped halo is masterfully pierced and carved with ascending stylized flames and miniature seated figures encircling a central lotus medallion, while the tiered base showcases deeply sculpted lotus petal tiers resting atop an octagonal platform. With its rich, warm dark wood patina and modular two-piece construction, this remarkable ritual object serves as a stunning standalone decorative sculpture or a traditional display backing for a sacred figure.
