Dating to the 1970s, the complementary male and female Asian court figures are beautifully modeled with expressive faces, flowing garments and applied floral details. Richly glazed in a particularly appealing palette of turquoise, coral-orange, saffron yellow, cream and black, the coloration feels remarkably fresh and relevant in a contemporary interior while retaining the exuberant character of vintage Italian decorative ceramics.

Each figure rests on a glossy black base and retains its dramatic original black pagoda-form fabric shade. The sculptural shades beautifully complement the Chinoiserie figures and give the pair exceptional presence.

At approximately 38–39 inches high to the tops of the finials, these are substantial statement lamps—wonderful on a large console, buffet or pair of commodes.
