The table features a generously proportioned near-square plank top above a simple apron, supported by four finely turned legs characteristic of the Louis Philippe period. The broad oak boards display beautiful natural grain, knots and variations in tone developed over generations of use. Its restrained construction and sculptural turned legs give the table a warm, understated presence. With its substantial scale and unusual near-square proportions, the piece is particularly versatile and can be used as a center table, dining table, library table, or large entry or foyer table. Structurally revised and restored, solid and stable. The oak has been cleaned and polished with wax, preserving its rich patina and natural surface character. Age-related wear, marks and surface imperfections consistent with age and use.
