The … Read more Elegant early 20th-century Venetian oval mirror featuring an ornate mirrored-glass frame beautifully etched with scrolling floral and foliate decoration. The layered construction and delicate engraving give the piece a wonderfully decorative quality while retaining the character and patina expected of its age.

Each section of the mirrored frame is joined with a series of three symmetrical, elongated shaped-glass elements arranged in descending size, creating additional dimension around the perimeter. The original beveled mirror plate remains in place and shows some age-related silvering and wear, particularly toward the edges, while still providing an excellent reflection.

One of the decorative glass securing elements on the right side is broken, as shown. Additional age-related wear, patina, and surface marks are present throughout.

The mirror is very heavy and currently does not have a hanging wire or hanging hardware attached. The reverse is wood-backed, so appropriate hanging hardware could potentially be installed by the buyer or a professional.
