The surface is richly worked with flowing organic forms, dense foliage, textured ground, and a prominent central architectural or sculptural element, creating a dramatic composition characteristic of the Art Deco fascination with nature and organic ornament.

The bronze retains an attractive aged golden-gilt surface with areas of darker patination, which accentuate the exceptionally deep and varied relief. The irregular, hand-worked character of the surface gives the piece considerable visual depth and emphasizes its sculptural quality.

The broad, rounded form makes this piece particularly versatile as a vide-poche, catchall, decorative tray, or small objet d'art, suitable for display on a console, desk, bibliothèque, or coffee table.

A distinctive example of French Art Deco decorative bronze, appealing to collectors of late 19th- and early 20th-century European decorative arts.
