A pair of 19th-century Tamil Nadu bronze figures of Shiva and Parvati, cast in panchaloha using the traditional lost-wax method and posed mid-dance on shallow lotus plinths. Parvati stands with one arm raised overhead holding a small hand drum, the other extended in a dance gesture, her tall fan crown and jewelry rendered in fine relief. Shiva balances on one leg with the other kicked out to the side, one arm crossed before him, a serpent coiled along his back leg. Headdress and ornament styling on both figures are consistent with South Indian temple bronze conventions.
