An early 20th-century landscape in oil on paper, painted en plein air from a wooded hillside looking out over open fields to a cluster of farm buildings and low hills beyond. The painting shows a mastery of depth and a fluidity of brush work with fresh, vibrant color and a proficiency in the manipulation of light. Tree trunks and canopy frame the middle distance, with warm ochre foreground earth giving way to cooler greens and blues toward the horizon. The work is signed in Chinese characters, lower right, and carries no other attribution. It has been archival float mounted with a 1-1/2" archival mat and glazed under a protective film.
