Vintage 18k yellow gold (stamped) Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date "President" Wristwatch. Rolex introduced the Day-Date in 1956, making history as the first wristwatch to display both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full in separate dial apertures. This handsome example features a 36mm case in 18K gold with the traditional Rolex fluted bezel and a warm champagne-tone dial. The date appears at 3 o'clock beneath Rolex's signature Cyclops magnifying lens. The watch is powered by a mechanical automatic movement. Watch has an impressive total weight of approximately 137.3 grams, including the three additional links. It has the substantial presence expected of a solid gold Rolex while retaining the classic proportions of the vintage Day-Date. The Day-Date is one of Rolex's quintessential luxury watches. Serial#L244957, Model #18238. The original box is an attractive accessory for presentation and collecting purposes.
This Rolex works beautifully with contemporary fashion. It can be worn as a striking everyday luxury watch, yet transitions effortlessly to evening attire or formal clothing.
