Edith was an American artist who is known for Impressionist and Tonalist studies of Peconic Bay, New York, as well as for figurative paintings with literary or mythical subjects. Henry Prellwitz (1865–1940) was also an American artist of Prussian decent, known for allegorical paintings and waterscapes of Peconic Bay, New York. In 1899, Henry and Edith moved to the north shore of Peconic Bay on Long Island, where their artist friends Irving Ramsay Wiles and Edward August Bell were already established. They painted plein air paintings and also worked in adjoining studios at High House, their Peconic Bay home. Hardback with pictorial covers that are clean, bright, glossy. Pages tight, crisp, excellent condition, like new. No dust jacket. See less
