Unusually large set of sterling silver flatware. Manufactured by Gorham Corp. The Strasbourg pattern was first introduced in 1897, discontinued n 1950 and re-introduced the same year. It was designed by William C. Codman and is an ornate Frech Rococo inspired scrollwork and shell details. This set is a service for 12 with 5 large serving spoons. It bears the monogram PLC on all pieces except on the knives, pastry/pie forks and serving spoons. It was a wedding gift to my mother-in-law in 1947.
