Each table features a … Read more An elegant matched pair of early 20th-century Louis XV Revival salon or occasional tables, circa 1900–1920. Each table features a circular marquetry top with intricate floral and foliate inlay surrounded by decorative gilt-metal edging.

The shaped apron incorporates a single drawer accented by an oval hand-painted porcelain plaque depicting a romantic pastoral scene, framed by elaborate gilt-metal foliate ornament. Slender curved legs are embellished with extensive gilt-metal mounts and terminate in decorative sabots.

The legs are joined by a particularly attractive shaped lower tier detailed with gilt-metal trim and centered by a substantial pinecone-form finial. The combination of detailed marquetry, painted porcelain plaques and richly applied metalwork reflects the French Louis XV Revival taste popular around the turn of the 20th century.

The tables retain visible evidence of traditional cabinet construction, including secondary woods, small nails and pins, and fitted components. No maker's mark has been identified; therefore, the pair is offered as Continental European, probably French, in the Louis XV Revival style.

Dimensions: Each measures approximately 30.75" H x 19" diameter.

Condition: Good antique condition with age-appropriate surface wear, light scratches, finish variation, and patina/oxidation to the gilt-metal elements. One tabletop has a faint circular surface mark that is subtle and primarily visible under certain lighting; noted for accuracy. Additional minor wear is consistent with age and use.
