Carved from a solid slab … Read more We are very pleased to offer this substantial sculptural black marble catchall tray, circa 1970s. Carved from a solid slab of richly figured stone, the piece features a strong rectangular silhouette surrounding a deeply recessed oval center with softly sloping contours. Dramatic white and gray natural veining travels throughout the nearly black marble, creating beautiful movement against its restrained architectural form. The combination of weight, material, and minimalist geometry gives the piece a distinctly modernist character. Equally striking as a catchall, desk accessory, vanity tray, or simply displayed as a sculptural object.
