This is a beautiful antique George III inlaid flame mahogany and satin wood crossbanded secretaire bookcase, circa 1815 in date. … Read more This is a beautiful antique George III inlaid flame mahogany and satin wood crossbanded secretaire bookcase, circa 1815 in date. The upper section with an arched pediment cornice flanked by turned finials, the pair of astragal glazed doors opening to adjustable shelves for displaying your best books. The fall front drawer opens to reveal a well fitted secretaire with a green baize writing surface, six small drawers above pigeon holes and a pair of bookend slides, for storing letters and documents, flanking a small cupboard, over three long graduated drawers. The drawers are all fitted with oval brass Prince of Wales feathers handles. Below the secretaire drawer there are three long graduated drawers, fitted with oval brass Prince of Wales feathers handles. The bookcase has it's original locks, keys and handles and stands on it's original splayed bracket feet.
