Presenting a magnificent vintage Chinese hardwood scroll box (painting box), finely crafted from dense Huali Rosewood with a rich, warm patina and striking natural grain. This elegant piece features a traditional mortise-and-tenon (dovetail) construction, with the top lid and front panel intricately inlaid with mother-of-pearl depicting birds perched among flowering plum branches, surrounding a central stylized longevity (Shou) character, symbolizing good fortune and longevity. The box is completed with brass hinges, circular lock plates, and carrying handles on the sides.
