Cast and patinated gilt- brass/bronze mounts with tortoiseshell-patterned square plinth bases; later electrical fittings. Each measures 22.25" h x 5.625" w x 5.625" d.

Each lamp is built as a compact architectural standard rising from a square stepped base, the mottled brown-and-gold plinth giving the appearance of faux tortoiseshell or a related decorative finish. Above, the body is modeled with rich neoclassical ornament: a scaled central form encircled by a coiled serpent, with lion-mask decoration and small flanking serpent-like details lending the piece a dramatic, antiquarian character.

The design draws on Empire and late neoclassical vocabulary, where animal masks, serpents, and boldly modeled metal mounts were used to suggest strength, protection, and classical refinement. Here those motifs are handled in a decorative revival manner rather than as strict archaeological copying, making the lamps especially suited to a cabinet-of-curiosities, library, or layered traditional interior.
